Bengaluru Airport to charge Private cars beyond 8 minutes and Commercial Vehicles beyond 10 minutes from December 11, 2025

Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (BLR Airport), operated by Bangalore International Airport Ltd. (BIAL), is introducing enhanced pick-up measures from December 11, 2025 onwards, to streamline passenger movement, reduce congestion, and improve safety, discipline, and overall convenience at arrival areas.

Lane Segregation System:
- Private cars (white board) can enter the designated arrival pick-up zones at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 free of charge.
- Overstay charges apply:
- 0–8 minutes: Free
- 8–13 minutes: ₹150 - 13–18 minutes: ₹300
- Beyond 18 minutes: Vehicle will be towed to the nearest police station with fines and towing charges.

Commercial Vehicles (Yellow Board Taxis, Electric Cabs):
- Must wait only at designated parking zones.
- First 10 minutes of parking are complimentary.
- Zones: P4 and P3 for T1, P2 for T2.

Objective:
- Reduce congestion at kerbside pick-up lanes.
- Prevent unauthorized parking and roadside pick-ups.
- Ensure orderly passenger movement and safety compliance.

Enforcement & Awareness:
- Part of the airport’s #BeCabWise initiative, which promotes safer, regulated pick-up operations.
- Includes digital signage, on-ground guidance, and coordination with ride-hailing platforms (Airport Taxi, Uber, Ola, Quick Ride, OHM electric cabs, WTI cabs).

CEO’s Statement:
Hari Marar (MD & CEO, BIAL) emphasized that discipline at pick-up zones is not just enforcement but a way to protect travellers, ensure orderly movement, and strengthen trust in the system.

🌟 In short: BLR Airport is tightening arrival zone discipline with stricter time limits, fines, and towing for overstays, while offering smoother, safer, and more organized pick-up experiences.
