Capital A today announced the departure of Aireen Omar, marking the conclusion of her remarkable 20-year career driving innovation, growth and digital transformation across the Group’s aviation and technology businesses.

End of a 20-Year Career:
Aireen Omar is stepping down after two decades of leadership at Capital A (parent company of AirAsia).

Career Journey:
- Joined AirAsia as Head of Corporate Finance, overseeing aircraft financing, procurement, treasury, and investor relations.
- Rose to become Executive Director and CEO of AirAsia Berhad, one of the first female airline CEOs in Asia, leading the airline through strong-performing years (2012–2017).

Leadership Impact:
- Spearheaded digital transformation and technology initiatives across the Group.
- Played a pivotal role in evolving Capital A into a digital-first organisation.

Recent Roles:
- In 2023, appointed President of Capital A’s Investment and Ventures division, driving venture building and strategic investments.
- Most recently served as Group CEO of BigPay, focusing on product innovation, regional expansion, and growth.
