9.95 million Foreign Tourist visited India in 2024, 4.26 in the first half of 2025

Let me share the latest official figures for India. This information was given by Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in a written reply in Rajya Sabha on December 11, 2025.

India’s Foreign Tourist Arrivals (2024–2025)
- Total FTAs in 2024: 99.52 lakh (9.95 million)
- Domestic Tourist Visits (DTVs) in 2024: 29,481.91 lakh (2.95 billion)
- Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEEs) from tourism in 2024: ₹2,93,033 crore (Revised Estimates)

Quarterly FTAs in 2025 (Jan–Jun):
- Q1 (Jan–Mar): 26.15 lakh
- Q2 (Apr–Jun): 16.48 lakh
- Total (first half of 2025): 42.63 lakh

Top Source Countries for FTAs in 2024:
1. United States – 18,04,586 arrivals
2. Bangladesh – 17,50,165 arrivals
3. United Kingdom – 10,22,587 arrivals
4. Australia – 5,18,205 arrivals
5. Canada – 4,76,273 arrivals

E-Visas Issued
Nov 2024 – Nov 2025: 31.74 lakh

👉 These numbers show that India’s tourism sector is rebounding strongly, with the U.S. and Bangladesh leading as source markets.
