AAI enhances Passenger Information and Navigation Across Airports
Clear directions and timely information are
integral to a seamless airport experience. As part of ‘Yatri Seva Abhiyan 2026’,
Airports Authority of India (AAI) undertook focused measures across its
airports to strengthen wayfinding signages, flight information and passenger
communication systems, enabling passengers to navigate airport facilities with
greater ease and access the information they need throughout their journey.
Wayfinding Signage Review
- Focus on visibility, placement, language clarity, and consistency.
- Directions to toilets, exits, transport facilities, and helpdesks checked.
- Outdated or contradictory signage identified for removal.
Flight Information Systems
- Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS), boarding gate, and baggage belt info reviewed.
- Boarding announcements aligned with operational updates to ensure accuracy.
Passenger Navigation Trials
- Individuals unfamiliar with terminal layouts tested navigation using signage.
- Helped assess clarity and identify areas needing improvement.
