Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport) has introduced a Special Assistance Zone at Terminal 1, a dedicated facility providing end-to-end support for passengers who may require additional assistance during their airport journey.
Purpose & Audience
- Designed for passengers needing extra support: Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), senior citizens, pregnant women, unaccompanied minors, and others requiring assistance.
Location:
Direct access via Priority Gate 5A.
Facilities:
- Two dedicated assistance desks staffed by airline partners
- Wheelchair-friendly check-in design
- Baggage collection and transfer handled by staff
- 20 accessible seats with charging points + extra seating for family/caretakers
- Flight Information Display System (FIDS) for real-time updates
