AirAsia is reminding passengers to plan ahead as special airspace closures and holiday traffic may affect travel during the National Day celebrations.
Airspace Closures
- Aug 26–28 (11:00 AM–12:00 PM)
- Aug 29 & Aug 31 (8:45 AM–9:45 AM)
Airspace within Kuala Lumpur Terminal Control Area will be temporarily closed for rehearsals and the National Day flypast in Putrajaya.
Travel Tips
- Arrive early: At least 2 hours before domestic flights, 3 hours before international flights.
- Check-in deadlines:
- KLIA2: counters close 1 hour before departure.
- Other Malaysian airports: 45 minutes before departure.
- Expect heavier traffic at check-in, security, and immigration due to the long weekend.

Special Assistance
- Counter check-in only for: reduced mobility, infants, pregnant guests, senior citizens, and unaccompanied minors.
- Pregnant guests over 27 weeks must present a doctor’s medical certificate.
- Wheelchair service can be pre-booked via the MOVE app at least 4 hours before departure.
