South Eastern Railway has announced a terminal change for the Howrah–Mysuru–Howrah Weekly Superfast Express (Train Nos. 22817/22818).
Key Changes
- New terminal: Shalimar (instead of Howrah).
Effective dates:
- Train No. 22817 (originating service) → From 30 October 2026, departs Shalimar.
- Train No. 22818 (return service) → From 1 November 2026, terminates at Shalimar.
Revised Timings
- Train No. 22817 Shalimar–Mysuru Weekly Superfast Express
- Departure: 16:10 hrs from Shalimar (previously 16:00 hrs from Howrah).
- Train No. 22818 Mysuru–Shalimar Weekly Superfast Express
- Arrival: 10:40 hrs at Shalimar (previously 11:10 hrs at Howrah).
👉 Importantly, there is no change in timings between Mysuru–Santragachi–Mysuru, so the schedule remains consistent for intermediate stations.
This adjustment is part of Indian Railways’ broader effort to decongest Howrah station and streamline operations by shifting select services to Shalimar, which is increasingly being developed as a secondary terminal for long-distance trains.
