Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) held a press conference “ROP: The New Chapter Begins” to announce the enhancement of its frequent flyer programme, Royal Orchid Plus, marking a new chapter for the membership programme with greater flexibility and value.

Key Upgrades
- ROP Smart Miles Pay: Use miles + cash or miles alone to pay for THAI tickets (taxes/fees excluded), with instant seat confirmation and continued mileage accrual.
- ROP Smart Miles Pay Lite (from 13 July 2026): Double‑mile redemption option for Bangkok‑departing flights in Business (Z) and Economy (T). Offers instant seat confirmation and mileage accrual.

Expanded Ecosystem
- Royal Orchid Holidays (ROH): Miles can now be redeemed for hotels, tourism activities, and partner services.
- ROP Experience: Curated activities with chefs, artists, hotels, and restaurants, redeemable with miles.

Membership Enhancements
- New Criteria (from 5 Aug 2026): Easier tier qualification for Platinum, Gold, Silver.
- New Rewards (from 1 Jan 2027): Bonus miles for meeting annual qualifying criteria.
- New Benefits: Silver members gain dedicated check‑in counters; all tiers enjoy complimentary Wi‑Fi.
- New Digital Security (from 5 Aug 2026): Membership numbers expand to 10 digits, stronger passwords, email verification, unique email per member.
