Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya leads nationwide 80th edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle

Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports Dr Mansukh Mandaviya led the nationwide 80th edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle today from the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.

Event Highlights
- Held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi on 5 July 2026.
- Celebrated 100 years of Sri Sathya Sai, in collaboration with Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations.
- Over 9,000 participants joined in cycling, community runs, Zumba, and Yoga.
- Across India, the drive was supported by Art of Living, Heartfulness, and Isha Foundation.

Engagement for Children
- A dedicated Game Zone with life-sized chess, ludo, carrom, table tennis, futsal, and badminton.

Minister’s Message
- “One out of 4 persons in India is overweight. Fitness is essential for all citizens.”
- Urged Indians to dedicate one hour away from mobile screens to sports and personal health.
- Reinforced PM Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047, emphasizing citizen health as a pillar of development.

Spiritual & Cultural Touch
- Began with Vedic invocations and lamp lighting.
- Public pledge for Nasha Mukt Bharat (drug-free India).
- Actor Naseer Abdullah attended and praised the initiative.

Movement Growth
- Started in December 2024, Fit India Sundays on Cycle has become a mass movement.
- More than 30 lakh participants across thousands of locations nationwide.
- Organized by MYAS, with support from Cycling Federation of India, Yogasana Bharat, Raahgiri Foundation, and MY Bharat.

This edition beautifully combined fitness, spirituality, and community engagement, making it both a health drive and a cultural celebration.
