As Indian Single Malts continue to redefine global perceptions of Indian luxury spirits, Indri has announced that its bottles, with immediate effect, will now carry the Indian Malt Whisky Association (IMWA) Certification Hologram, reaffirming its commitment to authenticity, craftsmanship and globally recognised whisky-making standards. Indri & IMWA Certification - Initiative: Indri Single Malt bottles will now carry the Indian Malt Whisky Association (IMWA) Certification Hologram. - Purpose: To guarantee authenticity, craftsmanship, and adherence to globally recognised whisky-making standards. Certification Standards Under IMWA rules, an authentic Indian Single Malt must: - Be made from 100% malted barley. - Be distilled entirely at a single distillery using copper pot stills. - Use only barley, water, and yeast. - Mature for at least 3 years in oak casks (≤700 litres). Industry Impact - Consumer Confidence: The hologram acts as a visible symbol of trust for buyers worldwide. - Global Positioning: Reinforces India’s reputation as a producer of premium, world-class whiskies. - Integrity: Helps distinguish genuine single malts from less rigorous products. Leadership View - Praveen Malviya (CEO, Piccadily Agro Industries): Called the hologram a “significant step” in strengthening credibility and aligning with international standards. Broader Context - The IMWA, founded in 2024, aims to preserve and promote authentic Indian Malt Whisky. - Indian Single Malts have gained international acclaim over the past decade, winning awards and challenging traditional whisky nations. - This certification represents the next evolution: pairing quality with transparency, traceability, and trust. This move positions India’s whisky industry alongside Scotland and Japan in terms of credibility.
