Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA), today announced a collaboration with Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Aircraft Design: Two planes — an Airbus A321neo and a Boeing 787 Dreamliner — will be decked out in Spider-Man decals and themed interiors with special headrest covers. Onboard Atmosphere: Passengers will hear music from Spider-Man: Brand New Day, adding to the immersive vibe. Exclusive Merchandise: Flight tags and foldable eco bags are available as gifts with purchase. Route Coverage: The themed aircraft will fly to Tokyo (Haneda) and Chiang Mai for their inaugural journeys, then rotate across destinations in Australia, China, Japan, the Philippines, and Thailand. Airport Experience: Even check-in counters at Changi Airport Terminal 1 will feature Spider-Man installations, so the journey begins before boarding. What’s clever here is Scoot’s element of surprise — even if you didn’t book a themed flight, you might end up on one, which adds delight to the low-cost travel experience. It’s a very different kind of recognition compared to Etihad’s award wins: Scoot is banking on pop culture partnerships to boost brand appeal, while Etihad is being celebrated for service excellence and innovation.
