Accor, a world leader in hospitality, and Inspired By KM (IBKM), a youth-focused charity founded by Kylian Mbappé, announce the launch of "ibis unlocked." The Challenge - Globally, nearly 1 in 5 young people are NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training). - Over the next decade, 1.2 billion youth will reach working age in developing countries, but only 400 million jobs are expected to be created. - Many face structural barriers: lack of opportunities, role models, and confidence. The Program: ibis unlocked - Launch markets: Brazil, France, Morocco, Thailand. - Three pillars of support: - Confidence & skills: 15 self-training modules on WhatsApp, focusing on behavioral skills. - Training access: Partner NGOs provide vocational and certified training with personalized support. - Real-world immersion: Hotel visits, internships, and job discovery at ibis hotels. - Scale potential: ibis has 2,500+ hotels in 82 countries, making it a powerful platform for global deployment. Upcoming Milestones - Autumn 2026: Educational week in Brazil, bringing together youth, beneficiaries, and industry professionals. - Long-term goal: Expand across Accor’s other brands, supporting 20,000 people furthest from employment by 2030 under Accor’s Hosting Change roadmap. Leadership Voices - Sébastien Bazin (CEO, Accor): Hospitality can be a lever for transformation, restoring confidence and opening paths to employment. - Fayza Lamari (President, Inspired By KM): Talent exists everywhere, but needs recognition. The program helps youth regain self-confidence and envision their future. This initiative is a strong example of how hospitality brands are moving beyond service into social impact and inclusion, using their global footprint to create opportunities for marginalized youth.
