BRICS released Schedules for Meetings Under Culture Track 2026

The BRICS Culture Working Group has emerged as an important platform for strengthening cultural cooperation, people-to-people exchanges, and creative collaboration among BRICS nations.

Background:
- Established as a platform for cultural cooperation, creative collaboration, and people‑to‑people exchanges among BRICS nations.
- Institutionalised through the 2015 Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Culture.
- India has hosted BRICS Culture Ministers’ Meetings in Goa (2016), New Delhi (2021), and now during its 2026 Chairship.

India’s 2026 Theme:
- “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability”
- Focus areas:
1. Creative Economy & AI – innovation, copyright, ethical use of technology.
2. Cultural Heritage Protection – conservation, restitution, and return of cultural property.
3. Culture & Climate – role of culture in sustainable development and post‑2030 agenda.
