The 15th Delhi International Film Festival (DIFF 2026) wrapped up in New Delhi on May 8 with a grand closing ceremony that highlighted both Indian and global cinema.

Renowned actress Rituparna Sengupta presented awards at the ceremony.

Special Recognition:
A New Postbox: Tales from Partition was honored for its sensitive portrayal of the human tragedy of Partition, resonating strongly with audiences and critics.

Global Participation:
177 films from 51 countries and 21 Indian states were screened, showcasing diverse languages, cultures, and social themes.

Focus Countries:
Russia, China, and several African nations were spotlighted, enriching cross-cultural dialogue.

Discussions & Panels
- A standout panel titled “Making Films is Easy, Selling Them is War” explored the challenges of film distribution.
- Panelists included Chittaranjan Tripathy (NSD Director), Salim Arif (IICS Dean), Arvind Gaur (Asmita Theatre Group), and Joginder Mahajan (Motion Pictures Association), moderated by journalist Reema Gautam.
