Conrad Athens The Ilisian has officially opened, marking a major transformation of the former Hilton Athens into a contemporary urban resort and the debut of the Conrad Hotels & Resorts brand in Greece. The property anchors The Ilisian, a new mixed‑use destination in the cultural heart of Athens, and blends bold design with deep ties to the city’s heritage. Rooms & Suites: 278 spacious accommodations, including Athens’ largest suite collection with Presidential Suites, a Royal Suite, and the upcoming Omega Penthouse featuring a private pool and panoramic Acropolis views. Design & Art: Preserved mid‑century elements, marble façades by Yannis Moralis, and curated contemporary artworks. Lighting designer Eleftheria Deko animates the façade at night. Dining: Nine distinct concepts, led by Michelin‑starred chef Angelos Lantos. Byzantino reopens as Athens’ first Grande Brasserie, complemented by the Athenian Lounge, Onuki Japanese dining, and the return of the legendary Galaxy rooftop as Galaxy Dispensary & Supper Club. Wellness: Athens’ largest outdoor pool, rooftop running track, outdoor gym, pickleball court, and extensive indoor facilities. The Odei Wellness Residence introduces treatments inspired by ancient Greek rituals, with longevity programs launching later in 2026. Experiences: Conrad’s signature 1/3/5 curated experiences offer insider-led explorations of Athens’ culinary, cultural, and creative scenes. Legacy: The hotel honors its past as Hilton Athens (opened in 1963) while redefining luxury for modern Athens. Broader Context This opening underscores Hilton’s growing footprint in Greece, with more than 50 properties now in the portfolio. It follows the launch of Sandblu Santorini (LXR Hotels & Resorts) earlier this month and precedes Conrad Corfu later in the year.
