Akasa Air closes FY25-26 with 37 aircraft; marks over 35% YoY fleet growth

Akasa Air, India’s fastest-growing airline, received delivery of its 36th and 37th aircraft, marking six deliveries in the first quarter of calendar year 2026; a 35% YoY fleet growth.

Fleet Growth & Deliveries
- Closed FY25–26 with 37 aircraft, a 35% YoY increase.
- Six deliveries in Q1 2026 alone, including the 36th (VT‑YBJ) and 37th (VT‑YBI) Boeing 737 MAX 8‑200 aircraft.
- Delivery flights routed via Seattle → Keflavik → Cairo → Bengaluru.

Aircraft Features
- Purpose‑built to Akasa’s specifications.
- Equipped with Safran Z200 seats:
- 4‑inch recline, contoured backrest, enhanced cushioning.
- USB‑C and USB‑A ports for connected travellers.

Strategic Expansion
- Firm order of 226 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, with 189 more scheduled over the next six years.
- Currently connects 26 domestic and 6 international cities (including Doha, Jeddah, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait City, Phuket).
- Serving 26 million passengers since launch in August 2022.

Sustainability & Efficiency
- Fleet powered by CFM LEAP‑1B engines, reducing fuel use and carbon emissions.
- Quieter cabins with 40% less noise, reinforcing Akasa’s “greenest fleet in Indian skies” positioning.
