Air India upgrades product and customer experience on more international routes this summer

Air India announced it will deploy aircraft featuring new, retrofitted or upgraded cabin interiors on additional, key international routes as part of its Northern Summer Schedule 2026, thus adding capacity and boosting connectivity on select long-haul routes.

Delhi–Tokyo (Haneda)
- From 14 Feb 2026, operated with B787-9 featuring a three-class cabin (introducing Premium Economy).
- Adds ~2,408 seats monthly.

Delhi–Toronto
- From 1 Mar 2026, frequency increases from 7x weekly → 10x weekly.
- Later in August, majority of flights will be operated with new B787-9s featuring upgraded interiors.

Delhi–Seoul (Incheon)
- From 29 Mar 2026, frequency increases from 5x weekly → 6x weekly.

Delhi–Shanghai
- From 29 Mar 2026, frequency increases from 4x weekly → 5x weekly.
- Each of these routes gains ~2,048 seats monthly.

Mumbai–London (Heathrow)
- From 1 Jul 2026, operated with new B787-9s and retrofitted B787-8s, replacing B777-300ER.
- All feature new cabin interiors.

Delhi–Melbourne
- From 1 Jul 2026, daily flights with upgraded B777-300ER.
- Introduces First Class (8 suites), plus 40 Business Class flatbeds and 280 Economy seats.
- Adds ~4,000 seats monthly.

Bengaluru–London (Heathrow)
- From 1 Aug 2026, operated with retrofitted B787-8 featuring Premium Economy.

Flights to Birmingham & London Gatwick
- Operated with legacy B777-300ER, introducing First Class on these routes.

Fleet & Product Upgrades
- Retrofitting Program: 26 legacy B787-8 aircraft being refitted with brand-new interiors and repainted in Air India’s new livery.
- New Deliveries in 2026:
- 3 new B787-9 (line-fit for Air India).
- 2 new A350-1000 aircraft.
- Over 50% of North America flights will feature new or upgraded interiors by mid-2026.
