Qantas has announced it will double capacity on its popular Sydney–Sapporo seasonal service, adding more flights and seats to meet strong demand for travel to Japan’s snowfields. Starting December 2026, the airline will expand from three to four weekly flights using Airbus A330-200 aircraft. Launch & Seasonality - Service resumed 15 December 2025 – 28 March 2026 after a pandemic pause. - Operated three times weekly (Mon, Wed, Sat). Aircraft & Capacity - Airbus A330-200 with 255 seats (27 business, 228 economy). - Initial seasonal schedule offered 20,000+ seats across the ski season. Expansion in 2026/27 - From 10 December 2026, Qantas will add a fourth weekly flight. - This effectively doubles capacity compared to the pre-pandemic one-season run (2019–2020) and boosts availability for peak ski travel.
