The EPL ATPL service was inaugurated by the DGCA, marking an important milestone in its digital transformation journey. Launch Date & Event: On 21 January 2026, DGCA officially launched Electronic Personnel Licence (EPL) services for the Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) at its headquarters in Delhi. Digital Transformation Milestone: This marks a major step in DGCA’s ongoing modernization and digital transformation journey. Secure Digital Licence: - Incorporates ICAO-aligned security features. - Ensures authenticity, prevents tampering, and allows real-time verification. - Accessible via the eGCA mobile application. Rollout Timeline: - EPL services began in February 2025 with Commercial Pilot’s Licence (CPL) and Flight Radio Telephone Operator’s (Restricted) Licence (FRTOL). - Now extended to ATPL, the highest level of pilot certification. Industry Collaboration: DGCA acknowledged the cooperation of aviation industry stakeholders in adopting the new system.
