The Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru has announced the most anticipated manta ray “hot dates” for 2026–27, based on over 20 years of research in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, home to the world’s largest-known manta population. Conservation Impact In 2025, sightings included 4,265 reef mantas, 28 whale sharks, 16 devil rays, and 10 oceanic mantas. All manta and devil ray species were uplisted to CITES Appendix I, granting them the highest level of protection.
