The Kochi Biennale Foundation (KBF) will organise an array of interesting workshops ranging from photography to rice hay weaving and terracotta & wheel pottery as part of Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2025 from Friday (January 16). Photography Workshop - Facilitator: People’s Photographers Collective (Tamil Nadu), founded by photojournalist Palani Kumar. - Focus: Empowering marginalized communities through visual storytelling. - Duration: 3 days (Jan 16–18), 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. - Venue: ABC Art Room, Bastion Bungalow, Fort Kochi. - Highlights: Hands-on training in photography as a tool for documenting lives and cultures. Ends with an exhibition. - Entry: Free (participants must attend all 3 days). Terracotta & Wheel Pottery Workshop - Facilitator: Jayan VK, master terracotta artist with 35+ years of experience. - Duration: 3 days, 10:30 AM – 4:00 PM. - Venue: ABC Art Room, Water Metro Station, Fort Kochi. - Highlights: Immersive introduction to clay practices—hand shaping, wheel pottery, and firing. - Method: Demonstrations, guided practice, and individual support. Rice Hay Weaving Workshop – “Kacchi Sangam” - Facilitator: Tinu Verghis (artist and rice farmer), with a joint talk by Satish Pauludas. - Duration: 2 days, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. - Venue: ABC Art Room, Water Metro Station, Fort Kochi. - Highlights: Ecological awareness through rice hay weaving. Participants learn twining techniques that build into shared forms. - Special Session: Final day talk (4:00–5:00 PM). - Eligibility: Open to children aged 12+ and walk-in participants. ✨ These workshops are part of the Art By Children (ABC) initiative, designed to engage visitors and participants in creative, ecological, and community-centered practices.
