IndiGo has become the first Indian airline to induct the Airbus A321XLR into its fleet, marking a major milestone in its international expansion strategy. Aircraft arrival: Landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi on 7 January 2026. New routes: - Mumbai → Athens (from 23 Jan 2026) - Delhi → Athens (from 24 Jan 2026) - Both routes will operate thrice weekly. Capabilities: - Range: up to 8,700 km - Enhanced fuel efficiency - Dual-class seating: 12 IndiGoStretch + 183 Economy Cabin features: RECARO seating with ergonomic comfort, device holders, in-seat power, and generous recline. Inflight experience: - Digital entertainment via Bluebox (movies, TV, games, anime) - Complimentary hot meals (vegetarian default, non-veg pre-book option) - Alcoholic beverages complimentary for IndiGoStretch, purchasable in Economy. Fleet expansion: Out of 40 A321XLRs on order, 9 will be delivered in 2026, enabling further long-haul routes to Europe and East Asia.
