Indian Railways cancelled 20+ express trains in January and February 2026

East Central Railway has decided to suspend the operation of some Express trains due to fog.

Reason for Cancellation
- Dense winter fog in North India disrupts train timings and increases accident risks.
- To ensure passenger safety, Indian Railways has planned temporary suspensions.
- The impact of fog is most severe between December and February, so cancellations are scheduled in advance.

Cancellation Period
- January 1, 2026 – March 1, 2026 (varies by train).
- Suspensions are being implemented in phases, not all at once.

- Train Number 18103, Tata Amritsar Express, will remain cancelled from January 1, 2026, to February 25, 2026.
- Train Number 18104, Amritsar Tata Express, will remain cancelled from January 1, 2026, to February 27, 2026.
- Train number 12873, Hatia Anand Vihar Express, will remain cancelled from January 1, 2026, to February 26, 2026.
- Train number 12874, Anand Vihar Hatia Express, will remain cancelled from January 1, 2026 to February 27, 2026.
- Train number 22857, Santragachi Anand Vihar Express, will remain cancelled from January 1, 2026 to March 2, 2026.
- Train number 14617, Purnea Court Amritsar Janseva Express, will remain cancelled from January 1, 2026 to March 2, 2026.
- Train number 14618, Amritsar Purnea Court Janseva Express, will remain cancelled from January 1, 2026 to February 28, 2026.
- Train number 15903, Dibrugarh Chandigarh Express, will remain cancelled from January 1, 2026 to February 27, 2026.
- Train number 15904, Chandigarh Dibrugarh Express, will remain cancelled from January 1, 2026 to March 1, 2026.
- Train number 15620, Kamakhya Gaya Express, will remain cancelled from January 1, 2026 to February 23, 2026.
