From October 1, 2025 Aadhaar Mandatory for Booking General Reserved Tickets via IRCTC Website/App During First 15 Minutes

Starting October 1, Aadhaar authentication will be mandatory for booking general reserved tickets online via the IRCTC website or app during the first 15 minutes of the booking window.

Key Objectives
- Benefit genuine users by giving them priority access during the initial booking window.
- Prevent misuse by touts and bots who often exploit the system to hoard tickets.
- Enhance transparency and ensure fair ticket distribution.

Booking Window Change
- First 15 minutes of general reserved ticket booking will require Aadhaar authentication.
- After this window, regular booking procedures resume for all users.

This initiative is part of IRCTC’s broader effort to streamline online ticketing and curb fraudulent practices. If you're a frequent traveler, it might be a good time to ensure your Aadhaar is linked to your IRCTC account.
