Key Arrangements at 30 Stations in Bihar & UP To accommodate the surge in passengers during the festive season, Indian Railways has implemented several crowd-control and passenger-friendly measures: - Dedicated Holding Areas: Large, weather-proof zones have been created to manage waiting passengers and reduce platform congestion. - Enhanced Surveillance: CCTV cameras have been installed for real-time monitoring and safety. - Extra Ticket Counters & Mobile Ticketing: These help reduce queues and speed up the booking process. - 24x7 Medical Booths & Fire Safety: Emergency services are now available round-the-clock at key stations. - Special Trains: Over 12,000 special trains have been deployed nationwide, with 6,181 trains specifically added for post-Chhath travel between October 28 and November 30. Notable Stations with Upgrades - Bihar: Patna, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Gaya, Saharsa, Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Danapur, Samastipur, Barauni - Uttar Pradesh: Gorakhpur, Banaras, Ballia Passenger Volume & Impact - Nearly 1.6 crore passengers have already traveled via these special trains, and a similar number is expected during return journeys after Chhath Puja. - The Railway Board has activated dedicated war rooms at national and zonal levels to monitor operations and ensure smooth travel.
