The countdown is on! In just two weeks, the inaugural World Sailing Inclusion Championships will begin at the Mussanah Sailing School, Barceló Mussanah Resort in Oman. Event Overview - Dates: November 30 – December 8, 2025 - Participants: Over 150 sailors, coaches, and support staff from 33 nations - Focus: Inclusivity in sailing, featuring athletes with a wide range of disabilities (Para-classified and non-IPC classified). - Competition Classes: - One-person: Hansa 303, ILCA 6 - Two-person: RS Venture Connect, Fareast 28r (visually impaired sailing) - Inclusive Development Programme (IDP): Training and development for sailors, coaches, and race officials from emerging nations, held before racing begins. Oman’s Role - Local Representation: Six sailors from Oman Sail’s SailFree programme, supported by bp Oman and the Oman Paralympic Association. - Highlight Teams: - RS Venture crews: Sami Al Sulaimi & Sultan Al Wahaibi, Rayan Al Mujaini & Zaher Al Atbi, Adil Al Siyabi & Hassan Al Lawati. - One-person Hansa 303 sailors: Ali Al Ghusaini, Al Ghalya Al Jabri, Malik Al Qurtubi. - Opening Ceremony: December 3, 2025, coinciding with the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Global Significance - Debut Nations: Trinidad & Tobago, India, Saudi Arabia, Korea, Iraq, Chinese Taipei, Uruguay. - Partners: World Sailing global partners Musto and Kuehne+Nagel, plus Omani ministries and tourism boards. - Message: Sailing as a sport of freedom, inclusivity, and equal opportunity.
