AirAsia Malaysia has announced the launch of a new direct route between Johor Bahru (JHB) and Kunming (KMG), China, starting 14 December 2025. Key Highlights - Frequency: 3 flights weekly (Johor Bahru ↔ Kunming). - Aircraft: Operated by AirAsia Malaysia (flight code AK). Expansion Strategy: - Strengthens Johor Bahru as a southern hub, complementing Kuala Lumpur. - Adds to AirAsia’s 14 weekly flights from Kuala Lumpur to Kunming, reinforcing its China network. - Supports trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between Malaysia and Yunnan province. With visa-free travel initiatives between Malaysia and China, it’s now easier for travelers to explore across borders.
