The Ministry of Culture has announced a landmark cultural event: on 3rd January 2026, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the exposition “Lotus Light: Relics of the Awakened One” at the Rai Pithora Cultural Complex, New Delhi. Sacred Piprahwa Relics: These relics, discovered in the late 19th century and believed to be linked to the mortal remains of Gautama Buddha, will be displayed alongside significant antiquities. Repatriated Heritage: Their return and public exhibition highlight India’s commitment to safeguarding cultural patrimony and honoring Buddhist traditions.
