Hilton has launched Pay with Points, becoming the first major hotel brand to offer a fully digital solution that allows members to use loyalty points toward their hotel bill during checkout.
The new feature is available through the Hilton Honors App and is integrated into the Digital Check Out experience.
How Pay with Points Works
-
Hilton Honors members with Silver, Gold, Diamond, or Diamond Reserve status can apply Points toward eligible hotel charges.
-
Members can review their hotel folio, select available redemption options, and apply Points directly through the app.
-
The entire process is completed digitally without requiring assistance from the front desk.
Developed Based on Member Feedback
-
The feature was introduced in response to Hilton Honors member feedback requesting more flexible redemption options.
-
According to Hilton research, 70% of surveyed members expressed interest in using Points for on-property purchases.
-
Approximately half of respondents indicated that such a feature could increase their likelihood of choosing Hilton for future stays.
Greater Flexibility for Hilton Honors Members
-
Members can now use Points for eligible hotel charges in addition to traditional rewards such as free night stays.
-
The feature provides greater choice and control over how loyalty rewards are redeemed.
-
Pay with Points enables members to utilize their Points before completing their stay and leaving the hotel.
Enhanced Digital Experience
-
The new offering is powered by Hilton's customized technology platform.
-
Pay with Points builds on Hilton's existing suite of digital tools, including:
-
Digital Check In
-
Digital Key
-
Choose Your Room
-
Digital Check Out
-
The initiative reinforces Hilton's strategy of delivering a seamless and digitally enabled guest experience from arrival to departure.
Phased Rollout Plan
-
Pay with Points is currently available at 150 participating hotels across the United States.
-
Hilton plans to expand the feature to more than 800 hotels by the end of 2026.
-
A broader rollout to more than 6,000 participating properties across the United States and Canada is planned for early 2027.
-
Availability and redemption options may vary by hotel property.
Leadership Perspective
-
Hilton stated that the feature reflects its commitment to providing more personalized and flexible loyalty benefits.
-
The company views Pay with Points as another step toward reducing travel friction while enhancing the overall customer experience through digital innovation.
