Vietnam Airlines Strengthens Strategic Partnerships Across the Nordic Region

Vietnam Airlines has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with Copenhagen Airport, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), and Danish Industry (DI) during the Vietnam–Denmark Business Forum held as part of President To Lam's state visit to Denmark.

1. Copenhagen Airport
- The two parties will explore opportunities to:
- Develop the Denmark and Nordic travel market.
- Improve operational efficiency.
- Assess potential new nonstop routes and increased flight frequencies.
- Copenhagen Airport is viewed as a strategic gateway for Vietnam Airlines' expansion across the Nordic region.

2. Scandinavian Airlines (SAS)
- Areas of potential cooperation include:
- Codeshare services.
- Frequent flyer programs.
- Cargo transportation.
- New Distribution Capability (NDC).
- Corporate travel solutions.
- The airlines will also exchange market intelligence and explore ways to provide more travel options between Vietnam and the Nordic countries.

3. Danish Industry (DI)
- Vietnam Airlines and DI will:
- Exchange information and business opportunities.
- Strengthen links with Denmark's business community.
- Explore Vietnam Airlines' potential membership in DI.
- The partnership aims to support business travel, tourism, trade, and broader commercial cooperation between Denmark and Vietnam.

Existing Service
- Since December 2025, Vietnam Airlines has operated three weekly nonstop flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Copenhagen using Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
- The route takes just over 12 hours and supports tourism, business travel, and cultural exchange.
