Access to clean drinking water and essential amenities
is a basic yet important part of a comfortable airport experience. As part of Yatri Seva
Abhiyan 2026, Airports Authority of India (AAI) undertook focused measures
across its airports to strengthen the availability, upkeep and accessibility of potable
water facilities and other essential passenger amenities.
Drinking Water Facilities
- Airport teams reviewed RO systems, water coolers, taps, and Water ATMs to ensure they are clean, functional, and accessible.
- Checks included surrounding cleanliness, ease of access, and passenger convenience.
- Availability of cups/glasses and nearby seating, dustbins, and other amenities were also assessed.
- Issues like leakage or non-functional units were identified and corrective action initiated.
Wayfinding & Accessibility
- Signage and directions to drinking water points were reviewed to make them easier for passengers to locate without assistance.
- Focus on clear wayfinding to reduce unnecessary movement across terminals.
Passenger-Centric Approach
- The initiative emphasizes that basic amenities like potable water are as important as major infrastructure for a seamless journey.
- Reflects AAI’s philosophy of “Seva and Sankalp” and “Service with Smile”, prioritizing practical improvements in everyday passenger experience.
Broader Goals of Yatri Seva Abhiyan 2026
- Strengthen passenger facilitation, service quality, safety, accessibility, cleanliness, and courtesy across the airport network.
- Ensure that comfort and convenience are embedded into the airport journey, not just through large-scale projects but also through reliable everyday facilities.
This initiative shows AAI’s commitment to raising the baseline of passenger comfort—making sure that even the simplest amenities like clean drinking water are consistently available and well-maintained.
