Department of IT, Electronics and Communications (DITEC) launches Tourism AI Chatbot for Goa

To accelerate digital transformation and promote safe, authentic tourism, the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (DITE&C), in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) and Goa Electronics Limited (GEL), has officially launched the Goa Tourism AI Chatbot.

Launch Event:
Introduced at the Goa Yuva Tourism Meet 2026 by Shri Rohan Khaunte, Minister for IT, Electronics & Communications and Tourism.

Collaborators:
Department of IT, Electronics & Communications (DITE&C), Department of Tourism, Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC), and Goa Electronics Limited (GEL).

Purpose:
- Provide verified government information on Goa Tourism and GTDC services.
- Ensure safe, authentic tourism by guiding travelers to registered accommodations and experiences.
- Reduce reliance on unverified private portals.

- Multi-lingual support: English & Hindi (Marathi and Konkani coming soon).
- Coverage:
- GTDC hotels and registered private stays.
- Transit help for reaching Goa and traveling within the state.
- Authentic cultural experiences and safe transport options.
- User Interaction: “Chat with Us” feature for direct queries.
- Ticketing Support: Built-in system for raising and tracking inquiries.

- Follows the Goa Online AI Chatbot (Feb 2026).
- Recently integrated into WhatsApp (Sept 23, 2026).
- Extends conversational AI into tourism, one of Goa’s primary economic pillars.
