Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) unveiled a series of developments across its airline and aviation services businesses, as it continues to build on its cautious growth momentum under the Long-Term Business Plan 3.0 (LTBP3.0).
Malaysia Airlines
- Return to Busan (PUS): Starting 2 December 2026, four weekly flights from Kuala Lumpur using Boeing 737-8 aircraft. This reconnects South Korea’s second-largest city after nearly three decades.
- South Asia Growth: Exploring a new destination in the region to strengthen connectivity.
- Capacity Increases:
- Fukuoka (FUK): Daily flights from 1 December 2026 (up from five weekly).
- Brisbane (BNE): Daily flights from 25 October 2026, operated by new A330neo aircraft.
- Surabaya (SUB): Increasing from 14 to 16 weekly flights from 1 November 2026.
Firefly
- Entry into China: Launching direct services to Kunming (KMG) with Boeing 737-800 aircraft. This marks Firefly’s first foray into Southwest China, complementing Malaysia Airlines’ wider presence.
MAG Culinary Solutions (MAGCS)
- Next phase of growth includes a new catering facility to expand production capacity and elevate inflight dining.
- Focus on consistency, quality, and innovation in meals across the Group’s airlines.
- Supports MAG’s ambition to make Kuala Lumpur a stronger regional aviation hub.
