RailOne App Reaches 4.76 Crore Downloads, Records 10 Lakh Daily Average Ticket Bookings

With a view to expand digital mode of procurement of reserved as well as unreserved tickets Railways has launched RailOne App on 01.07.2025. This App enables passengers to book reserved as well as unreserved tickets on mobile phone.

RailOne App
- Integrated platform for reserved, unreserved, and platform ticketing.
- Also includes train enquiry, PNR enquiry, RailMadad, journey planning — all in one app.
- Single-Sign-On (SSO) eliminates the need for multiple apps and passwords.

Usage (as of 02 Aug 2026):
- Daily average tickets: 10 lakh
- Reserved tickets: 2.79 lakh
- Unreserved tickets: 7.24 lakh
- Downloads: 4.76 crore

Digital Ticketing Growth
- Reserved tickets online: ~89% (vs. 49% in 2013–14).
- Unreserved tickets via non-counter modes: ~39%.
- Reflects a major shift toward digital-first travel.

National Train Enquiry System (NTES)
- Provides real-time train running info (arrival/departure, schedules).
- Interfaces: enquiry counters, website, mobile apps (Android/iOS), Rail Enquiry No. 139.
- Features: Spot Your Train, Live Station, Train Schedule, Trains Between Stations.
- Downloads (as of 01 Aug 2026):
- Android: 4.5 crore+
- iOS: 16 lakh
- Handles 80,000 concurrent users and 6 crore enquiries daily.
- Appreciated for reducing queues at enquiry counters.

Refunds via NGeT
- Automatic refunds for online e-tickets when trains are cancelled.
- Credited directly to passenger’s bank account.
- Counter tickets still require visiting PRS counters for refunds.
