Vietjet forges direct links between Vietnam and Australia’s newest international airport, strengthening bilateral ties

Marking the State Visit of Vietnam’s General Secretary and President To Lam to Australia, Vietjet and Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding and announced a new direct service between Ho Chi Minh City and Western Sydney, expanding air connectivity between the two countries while supporting tourism, trade, investment, innovation and people-to-people links.

Route Launch
- Start date: January 9, 2027.
- Frequency: Two round-trip flights per week.

Schedule:
- Depart Ho Chi Minh City: Tuesdays & Saturdays at 9:20 p.m., arriving WSI at 10:00 a.m. next day.
- Depart WSI: Wednesdays & Sundays at 12:05 p.m., arriving Ho Chi Minh City at 4:30 p.m. same day.

Strategic Importance
- Vietjet becomes one of the first airlines to connect Vietnam with Western Sydney International Airport (WSI), Australia’s newest aviation gateway.
- Supports tourism, trade, investment, innovation, and people-to-people links between Vietnam and Australia.
