Marriott Signs Dual Agreement with Catalonia Hotels and Resorts to Bring All-Inclusive Properties to Jamaica and Tanzania

Fueling growth in Marriott’s global all-inclusive portfolio, agreement is set to bring Autograph Collection Hotels to Zanzibar and Marriott Hotels to Jamaica.

- Location: Prime beachfront site near Sangster International Airport.
- Purpose: Introduces the Marriott Hotels brand into Jamaica’s leading resort destination.

Zanzibar, Tanzania – Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort
- Opening: Expected in 2027 (new-build).
- Scale: 271 guestrooms with a wellness-focused guest experience.
- Amenities: Multiple pools, spa, theater, oceanfront jetty with seawater pool & bar, diverse specialty restaurants.
- Purpose: Expands Marriott’s Autograph Collection into East Africa, blending individuality with Zanzibar’s rich culture and natural beauty.

Strategic Significance
- Reinforces Marriott’s all-inclusive expansion strategy across CALA (Caribbean & Latin America) and EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa).
- Marriott now has 38 all-inclusive properties across nine CALA markets, with 16 more in the pipeline (5,600 rooms).
- In EMEA, pipeline includes 4 properties totaling nearly 1,990 rooms.
- Owners gain access to Marriott Bonvoy’s 283 million members, boosting distribution and loyalty reach.

Partnership Strength
- Catalonia Hotels & Resorts operates 82 hotels (12,000+ rooms) across Europe and CALA.
- Already collaborates with Marriott through the Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel.
- This dual signing reflects Catalonia’s confidence in Marriott’s brand power and global development expertise.

This move positions Marriott as a serious competitor in the all-inclusive luxury segment, directly challenging Hyatt’s AMR Collection and Hilton’s recent resort expansions.
