Air India today announced that it has entered into a new codeshare partnership with Uzbekistan Airways, strengthening its growing international network and enhancing connectivity between India and Central Asia. Effective from: March 20, 2026. Scope of partnership: Air India has placed its “AI” designator code on Uzbekistan Airways flights between Delhi–Tashkent, Mumbai–Tashkent, and Goa–Tashkent (seasonal). Passenger benefits: - Seamless access to Tashkent from major Indian gateways. - Single-ticket convenience with baggage checked through to the final destination. - Onward domestic and international connections via Air India’s network. Extended connectivity: Through an existing interline partnership, travelers can connect from Tashkent to Bukhara, Qarshi, Nukus, Urgench, Termez, Samarkand, Fergana, and Namangan. Leadership remarks: - Nipun Aggarwal (CCO, Air India): Highlighted Tashkent’s growing importance for leisure, business, and cultural travel, and the value of expanded choice and convenience. - Shukhrat Khudaykulov (Chairman, Uzbekistan Airways): Called the agreement a “new chapter” in aviation cooperation, expanding networks and opportunities for passengers. This partnership strengthens India’s air links with Central Asia, positioning Air India as a more competitive player in the region while giving passengers smoother travel options.
