Recognising water as a shared and increasingly constrained resource, IHCL’s approach extends beyond operational efficiency within its hotels to long‑term conservation initiatives in water‑stressed regions.

- Partner: Ambuja Cement Foundation (ACF)
- Focus: Watershed-level solutions in the Rupen River catchment.
- Actions: Rainwater harvesting, revival of traditional water bodies, ecosystem restoration across 30 villages (~20,000 hectares).
- Outcomes: Improved groundwater, reduced salinity, enhanced vegetation, stronger rural livelihoods.

Tamil Nadu (Chengalpattu district)
- Partner: National Agro Foundation (NAF)
- Focus: Watershed conservation and rejuvenation of local water bodies.
- Outcomes: Groundwater recharge, efficient water use, sustainable rural ecosystems.

Karnataka (Chikkaballapur district)
- Partner: Environment Association Bangalore (EAB)
- Focus: Rainwater harvesting at schools and restoration of heritage water structures (Temple Kalyani).
- Outcomes: Improved water access, reduced groundwater pressure, cultural preservation.

Additional Project
- Location: Naswadi Block, Chhota Udepur district, Gujarat
- Partner: ACF
- Focus: Integrated Water Resource Development for climate resilience and livelihood enhancement.

- 50+ lakh cubic metres of water recharge and savings over three years.
- Strengthened rural livelihoods, reduced distress migration, and improved ecological resilience.
