Project Overview - Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) signed an agreement to develop a 250-key Taj hotel in Guwahati. - This involves renovating and repositioning an existing 150-key property and adding 100 new rooms. - The signing took place in the presence of Assam’s Chief Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. Strategic Importance - Guwahati is recognized as the commercial and cultural gateway to Northeast India. - IHCL sees strong economic momentum in Assam, making it a prime location for Taj’s expansion. - The hotel will strengthen the city’s hospitality ecosystem, supporting both business and tourism growth.
