Bangalore Airport and Frankfurt Airport Sign Strategic MoU to Strengthen India–Europe Air Cargo Connectivity
Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport), operated by Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Frankfurt Airport (FRA) during Air Cargo India to enhance cargo connectivity between South India and Europe. Objective: Strengthen India–Europe air cargo connectivity. Focus Areas: - Enhancing cargo handling efficiency - Developing sustainable logistics solutions - Facilitating trade growth between India and Europe Strategic Importance: - Bengaluru is a major hub for pharmaceuticals, perishables, electronics, and e-commerce cargo. - Frankfurt Airport serves as Europe’s leading cargo gateway. Outcome Expected: Improved supply chain resilience, faster transit times, and expanded opportunities for exporters and importers across both regions. This MoU positions BLR Airport as a stronger global cargo hub while deepening India–Europe trade ties.
