The art work, ‘You I Could not Save, Walk with Me’, is a collaborative effort of artist Murali Cheeroth, currently Kerala Lalithakala Akademi Chairman, photographer Sudheesh Yezhuvath, poet P N Gopikrishnan, and human geographer and urbanist Jayaraj Sundaresan, Organised as part of Edam, it is on display at Cube Art Spaces, Bazaar Road, Mattancherry. Historical Context: - Gandhi’s peace efforts during Direct Action Day (1946), Noakhali riots, and Bihar violence are revisited. - His ability to restore peace through humaneness and dialogue is emphasized. Message: The exhibition warns against misrepresentation and erasure of Gandhi’s legacy, urging society to remember his relevance in today’s world of war, hatred, and division. Significance This Biennale project is not just art—it’s a living archive of Gandhi’s philosophy, reminding us that his principles of Ahimsa (non-violence) and Satya (truth) remain vital in confronting modern crises.
