Project Overview - Approval Date: December 24, 2025 - Total Length: 16.076 km across three new corridors - Total Cost: ₹12,014.91 crore - Funding Sources: Government of India, Government of Delhi, and international agencies New Corridors 1. R.K. Ashram Marg → Indraprastha (9.913 km) - Extension of the Botanical Garden–R.K. Ashram Marg corridor - Connects Central Vista area, currently under redevelopment - Key stations: R.K. Ashram Marg, Shivaji Stadium, Central Secretariat, Kartavya Bhawan, India Gate, War Memorial–High Court, Baroda House, Bharat Mandapam, Indraprastha 2. Aerocity → IGD Airport Terminal-1 (2.263 km) - Extension of Aerocity–Tughlakabad corridor - Boosts connectivity between South Delhi and Domestic Airport T-1 3. Tughlakabad → Kalindi Kunj (3.9 km) - Connects Tughlakabad, Saket, Chattarpur, and Kalindi Kunj - Stations: Sarita Vihar Depot, Madanpur Khadar, Kalindi Kunj Impact - Commuters Benefited: ~60,000 office goers + 200,000 visitors daily in Central Vista area - Environmental Benefits: Reduced road congestion, lower fossil fuel use, and pollution reduction - Network Expansion: Adds 13 stations (10 underground, 3 elevated) - Economic Boost: Strengthens connectivity to Central Delhi and Domestic Airport, enhancing ease of living and business mobility Current Metro Status - Phase IV: 111 km, 83 stations under construction (80.43% completed as of Dec 2025) - Passenger Journeys: Average 65 lakh per day, with a record 81.87 lakh on Aug 8, 2025 - Network Size: 12 lines, ~395 km, 289 stations — largest in India and among the world’s biggest ✨ Takeaway: The Phase V(A) corridors will transform connectivity between Central Vista, South Delhi, and the Domestic Airport, reinforcing Delhi Metro’s role as the city’s lifeline.
